The Cleveland Daily Banner is a local news outlet and three-day print publication reporting in Cleveland, Tenn. and for the surrounding area. This Facebook page is meant as an extension of ClevelandBanner.com. As such, discussion on this page which would not be suitable for digital or physical publication will not be considered appropriate and will be removed. Profanity: the use of any profane words, slurs, or discriminatory descriptions are automatically hidden, per Facebook’s standards and the social media standards of the Banner. Users who violate this policy may be banned. Links to content from other sites: These links are reviewed individually and may be hidden or removed if deemed inappropriate. Full text from Banner articles: Full text from articles secured behind the Banner’s paywall that are copied and pasted into comments on our social media page will be hidden. However, the Banner supports and encourages the sharing of content from our page on personal social media accounts. Someone’s personal information: The Banner will not allow comments that share one’s contact information, including but not limited to their address, email, phone number, workplace, or that of their family, without their expressed consent. Users are cautioned that this is a public page, and so information posted in the comments may be viewed by anyone at any given time, once published. Trolls and fake accounts: Anyone who is determined to be posting under an illegitimate Facebook account, or posts comments and shares content (such as memes) with the intent of shocking, angering or sowing discord among others will have their comments removed and may be banned. We will not remove comments from individuals sharing their opinion. Sometimes, the topic of the news can be contentious, and people will want to express their opinion, to which they are entitled. Facebook users and readers of the Banner are allowed to post an opinion that is not factually true, or that others may believe is incorrect or perhaps unacceptable for whatever reason. In these instances, we encourage users to please remember to engage in civil debate and focus efforts on explaining why they might disagree rather than attacking the individual expressing their opinion.
