Slavin Nadal School of Ballet

The Slavin Nadal School of Ballet offers the finest in classical ballet training. School Founders Eugene Slavin and Alexandra Nadal were former Principal Dancers of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Prior to opening the Slavin Nadal School of Ballet in 1989, they were the founding Artistic Directors of Ballet Austin, Directors of the Ballet Austin Academy, and Artistic Directors of the company's predecessor - Austin Civic Ballet. School Directors Joseph and Kimberly Nygren Cox are both artists with long and diverse careers in dance. Joseph was a student and professional dancer at Ballet Austin under the direction of the Slavins before becoming a Principal Dancer with the Louisville Ballet, Director of the Cincinnati Ballet second Company (CBII), and a Professor of Dance at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Kimberly was a Soloist with the Louisville Ballet, served as the Director of both the Ballet Arkansas Preparatory Program and Summer Intensive, had a commissioned work for the Louisville Ballet Youth Ensemble adjudicated and performed at the Southeastern Regional Ballet Association (SERBA) Festival, and was an adjunct instructor for dance and fitness at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. With roots in Russian-based technique, the school curriculum is designed to support the needs of the serious dance student seeking a high level of mastery, and reflects the values and vision of its founders – a commitment to refined training that develops sound technique, artistry, discipline, and a deep appreciation for the art of classical ballet.
