The Floridians F.C. is the oldest Football (Soccer) franchise of the USL's Premier Development League (PDL) in South Florida. As the top developmental men’s league in North America, the PDL features 73 teams within four conferences across the United States and Canada. The PDL season consists of 14 regular season matches for each team, seven home and seven away, and provides elite collegiate players the opportunity to taste a higher level of competition while maintaining their eligibility. In addition to league play, PDL teams compete in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup as well as various exhibitions. The PDL has proven to be an important stepping-stone for top professionals now playing throughout the world. The Floridians will compete in the Southeast Division of the Southern Conference in the 2014 season. The PDL team will become the natural pinnacle team for the Floridians F.C. pyramid and will provide the top Floridian players with the opportunity to stay, come or return to South Florida during and after their college years. As the ‘shop window’ for professional clubs looking to discover and identify aspiring professional players who may enter the MLS Super Draft in future years, many of the players currently playing Major League Soccer and elsewhere began their careers in the PDL when they were competing as an elite college or high school athlete. Over the past three years, 111 players with PDL experience have been drafted in the MLS SuperDraft, which is more than 70 percent of the selections. Floridians games will showcase the top level of amateur soccer in South Florida and are the most-exciting and affordable form of family entertainment during the summer months.
The Floridians F.C. is in the process of developing its proprietary grounds to continue and develop the best soccer talents in Football (soccer).
