Geminis Andrew Sabola and Meghan Erwin ran off to Italy to learn how to make gelato the old school way. In Bologna, they studied alongside the world's best gelato makers. While traveling around Italy they learned the best way to consume gelato was to wash it down with a negroni on the rocks or an amaro straight up. Sabola and Erwin came together to create Gelateria Gemelli. The shop will open early 2015 at the Corazon building located on E. 6th street. Gemelli makes gelato in small batches and sources only the best ingredients; this method preserves the integrity of the product. Gemelli will also serve Negroni, Amari and other fine spirits as well as espresso drinks sourced from Tweed Coffee.
